3 03  Piano Quartet In C Minor, 1. Allegro by Andrew Hsieh (2006-09-13)
MidiEngine: I dont know. Sequencer: Sibelius. MidiFont: None. This is the recently completed first movement of an as-yet-unfinished piano quartet that has been in the works since August of 2003. Sibelius was used primarily as a typesetting tool rather than as a MIDI sequencer, so the MIDI file may be a bit rough around the edges; please bear with that!

5 05  Toccata Passe-partout Du Salon by John Elliott (2007-01-30)
MidiEngine: X-Fi. Sequencer: Sibelius. MidiFont: Kontact Player Gold. Revision of Toccata Passe-Partout. My impression (image, picture) of the variety of French salon music from about 1920. A conversation between two musicians regarding the harmonic excitement of those times, sometimes discussing the same things, other times disagreeing. Toccata: a piece of music for keyboard intended as a virtuosic display. (http://www.dolmetsch.com/) Passe-Partout: a paper or, more usually, cardboard sheet with a cutout, which is placed under the glass in a photo frame. The photo (or print, etc.) is placed under this. The passepartout serves two purposes: firstly to prevent the photo touching the glass, and also to enhance the visual appeal of the photo.

MidiEngine: Audigy. Sequencer: Sibelius. MidiFont: Merlin Gold. An episodic fantasia-rondo for wind quintet. I've used F horn in notation but high/ Bb horn better suits it's tones in performance.

9 09  Trio 1984 by Lavio Pareschi (2003-06-26)
A trio for violin, cello and piano composed in 1984, with some additions. Sequenced using the Merlin soundfonts because of the good violin and cello.

10 10  Trio a Vino by Shawn Beard (2004-04-30)
An inebriated exploration of 3-part counterpoint, composed this evening with Merlin WXP 1.1 in mind (others should work, but WXP is worthtrying). A rewrite of my own choral work "Haec dies quam fecit Dominus", it originally had harsichord continuo, but a wise woman told me that it sounded much cleaner without it, esp. with WXP fonts. 21st century? Bah! If it ain't Baroque, fix it.
